Last Saturday a group of twelve friends helped to test the process for
co-creating our Community Mosaic Project. What an exciting coming-out event, of
sorts. We noticed the curiosity, openness and a sweet sense of an accepting
“pop-up community” in which we use feelings as a source of creative inspiration
and expression. We plan to let this project unfold organically and to trust the
process.

Fun and meaning co-exist! Invited to reflect on "What do I care about? What would I intend to support? What do I believe is important for our administration to support?" ... participants took a look at what has heart and meaning in their lives. They found ceramic pieces to represent their thoughts and feelings, intentions and hopes - and then found their way to represent these through mosaic art-making. 12 leaves are now growing on our co-created tree!
ReplyDeleteBy refraining from evaluating our creations through notions of "beauty or skill" we were able to explore the deeper meaning of our creations with one another. We shared our hopes and dreams for the future, creating community ... united in care and respect. May it be so for all.
